Technical details

Characteristics

A combination of 2 biosensor technologies with 5 properties and analysis of the signal processing that is managed by software.

Bio impedance biosensor – features:

  • The Bio impedance in the bipolar sensor (IM sensor) evaluates the segmental conductivity of the human body with low frequencies through 6 tangible electrodes. The analysis of the signal processing of the measurement supplies estimated parameters concerning the oxygen consumption of the tissues, the ion density of the Chloride in the interstitial fluid and the morphology of the interstitial fluid.
  • The Bio impedance via the Tetra polar method (BIA sensor) evaluates the resistance and the reactance of the human body. A single frequency (50KHz) is used via four tactile pads, to estimate the parameters of body composition (total water balance, lean mass, fat mass). This by estimating predictive equations such as those generally described in peer reviews.

Biosensor of spectrophotometry – features:

  • The Pulse Oximeter (SpO2 sensor) indicates SpO2%, the pulse value and the vertical scale of the graphics boost.
  • The photo-electric plethysmograph or Digital Pulse Analysis (DPA sensor) is the analysis of the signal processing of the pulse waveform which is provided by the oximeter. The mathematical analysis provides indicators to assess cardiovascular function and hemodynamic indicators of the blood pressure measurement.
  • The Heart Rate Variability (HRV sensor), both in the time domain (statistical methods) as well as on the frequency domain (spectral analysis). Each QRS complex is detected, and so-called normal-to-normal (NN), or rhythm-to-rhythm (RR) intervals between adjacent QRS complexes are the result of the depolarization of the sinus node. The analysis of the signal processing of the measurement will provide indicators in order to estimate the activity of the ANS (Autonomic Nervous System).

Suggested use:

To estimate the homeostaseproces the system provides estimation and historic needs pending on the following terms of use:
  • Displaying of Spo 2%
  • Analysing of the basic rhythms of the NN intervals or RR in the heart rate variability (HRV), both in the time domain and in the frequency domain. It provides mathematical analyzes of the input of the depolarization of the sinus node and ANS activity indicators.
  • The analysis of the pulse waveform by photo-electric plethysmography (PP), the second derivative of photo-electric plethysmography and pulse rate. It provides mathematical analyzes of the input of the measurement of SpO2% and hemodynamic indicators.
  • Analyzing the galvanic skin responses (IM). It provides mathematical analyzes of the bioimpedance measurement and the conditions of the living tissue.
  • The display of the estimated parameters of the body composition (BIA).
BIA is intended for children over 7 years. IM is used for children (over 5 years) and adult patients. HRV and DPA are used for adult patients (over 17 years). The system is used by therapists.

Interstitial System

The IM system is an application in the field of non-invasive bio electrical impedance.

It is a medical system that by means of a full software, allows to display images, diagrams or custom graphical images of the patient again.

The IM system provides valuable information on the organism, indicating the functional state of health, either globally or by organ systems.

It was developed by a group of physicians, physicists, mathematicians and computer scientists with the aim to combine the latest scientific findings in the field of neurology and neurophysiology in a reference system.

The IM system is based on the principles of electro-chemical analysis (in particular, the chronoamperometry regulated by the Cottrell equation), the principles of the electrophysiology and, in particular, the embodiment of the work over impedance testing (Nybo Thomasset).

The principles of the neurophysiology and, in particular, the effects of the acid-base balance of the functioning of organs and systems (Guyton) member, have made it possible to create a system to carry out a non-invasive functional test, rational , easy to interpret and recognized by the international medical / scientific community.

In order to ensure the reliability of a system, it is necessary to carry out a series of laboratory tests.

The IM system is a device supported by clinical trials conducted in four public hospitals under strict scientific controls.

Characteristics

Consecutive measurements are performed with a weak direct current and with very low frequency (from 100 Hz to 700 Hz) between six tangible electrodes which are placed symmetrically on the left and right forehead, palms of the hands and soles of the feet of a person. Each electrode is cathode then anode (bipolar mode). This allows the registration of the resistance, conductivity, intensity and voltage (Ohm’s law) of 11 intermediate liquid paths of the human body.   The hand and foot electrodes are at least 250 cm2 and in metal. The forehead electrodes are disposable (single use) and Ag/ Ag/Cl. Between the different electrodes the following is measured:
  • The conductivity of anode to cathode (SDC +)
  • The conductivity of cathode to anode (SDC -)
  • The delta between SDC+ minus SDC -, in a numerical value scale from 0 to 100
  • The distribution of the current in the path which is expressed in conventional unit (coefficient α).
Estimation of parameters in relation to the living tissue:
  • Estimate of tissue O2 consumption
  • Estimation of the intermediate liquid density of negative ions (the chloride ions and bicarbonate)
  • Estimation of the intermediate liquid balance of positive ions – the negative ions are related to the density of the chloride.
  • Estimation of the morphology of the intermediate liquid space.

Clinical trials:

  • Follow-ups: Examination of the drug policy (thyroid hormone, beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, and SSRI treatments)
  • Screening for prostate cancer and ADHD children (learning difficulties)
  • Estimation of the sympathetic system modulation.

Suggested use:

IM (Interstitial Measurement) is a medical device for measuring the galvanic skin response. IM can be used for children (over 5 years) and adult patients. The system should be used by a therapist.

Body Composition System

The BC system measures the resistance and the reactance in tetrapolar manner between the right hand and right foot with Multi frequency in range 1 – 500 KHz. The resistance and reactance calculations are converted to the estimated parameters of body composition (total moisture, lean mass, fat mass) according to the predictive equations of BIA (Body Impedance Analysis = Body Impedance Analysis) published in the peer reviews. Calculation and monitoring of:
  • Actual Impedance
  • Actual Phase Angle (PA)
  • Estimated body fat (FAT)
  • Estimated fat free mass (FFM)
  • Estimated total body water (TBW)
  • Estimated Intra-Cellular Water (ICW)
  • Estimated Extra-Cellular Water (ECW)
  • Estimated Basal Metabolic Level (MMR)
  • Estimated Daily Energy Expenditure (DEE)
  • Actual Body Mass Index (BMI)
The data is stored in a backup on your PC. The device is used for people older than 7 years. The system should be used by a clinician.
